FAQs

What is micropigmentation/ semi-permanent makeup?

This is the insertion of a hypo allergic pigment into the second layer (dermal layer) of the skin. It means that in the selected area the makeup can be applied and then last several years. You are unlikely to have any reaction to the treatment (99.9% of clients experience no reaction) however you can opt to have a patch test prior to treatment if you wish.

How long is the appointment?

It will take about 1 hour 15. During this time you will be given a thorough consultation, we will have an in depth discussion about shape and colour and draw on the brows in order to see a result before we proceed. The area will then be numbed then I will carry out the procedure. Then I can discuss all the aftercare and also give you a leaflet on this.

Will I need a second visit (top up)? When?

Yes, the first time you have semi-permanent makeup done, you will need a ‘touch-up’ or ‘top-up’ as it is known 4-6 weeks later. This is because it is more than likely after the first sitting minor details need extra colour, perhaps you may like to take the brow thicker or darker as they heals much softer and lighter than you see as you leave the first time. We can make any necessary alterations and simply ‘finish them off’. Thereafter you will only need one sitting in 1-2 years just to refresh the shape and colour.

Does it hurt?

It is a little light scratch passing over the brows once, then the area of skin is disrupted so an anaesthetic can be applied and you will be very comfortable throughout.

Will I Be Able to Go Out Without Everyone Noticing?

After a procedure the area treated will be darker, more intense and a fairly sharp shape. This will last for a few days until the area exfoliates and the true colour and feathered finish emerges. Generally it is only you who notices the darker colour. Most people experience redness which goes down within an hour.
